 I have purchased several of these over the years because they are so handy to have when Dutch Oven cooking outdoors. I keep finding new ways to use them. This one is a bit tight to open and close but don't worry. It's new and will loosen up with use.
As I said in the video, this product saves space in two different ways. First, it folds flat for easy storage and I can tuck it away in my bag of cast iron gear. Second, it allows me to take just one set of pots and pans camping instead of two. I no longer need to carry footed dutch ovens for my campfire cooking and flat bottom pans to use on the camp stove. This little stand allows me to use a flat bottom dutch oven outdoors to do my cooking. It also works as a handy lid stand so your lid stays clean when you're tending to a cooking pot. Now flip your cast iron lid over and place it on the stand and you have a griddle surface from which to cook. Be aware that not all cast iron lids will work as a griddle so you have to be careful when selecting your cast iron. Are you getting the picture as to why I have several of these? I just reduced the amount of gear I carry and saved many pounds of weight! Even if you don't use it with your cast iron, it works well with any type of cooking gear as a lid stand or to make an outdoor burner for the campfire. I have one more way that I use this item at home. I stack cast iron dutch ovens up in the corner of my kitchen as a decorative element and as a storage space in plain site. I place this under the bottom pan to raise the stack of pans from the floor so that I can easily run the vacuum cleaner and keep the dust bunnies at bay. This little gem is versatile!
I would buy it again because I am always finding a new way to use it! If this is as clear as mud, watch the video for a visual explanation.
