First of all, I wanted to say that Rootless has amazing customer service. My fire pit came without one of the small plastic foot caps. This did not affect the usability of the fire pit at all, but I am particular when buying a new device. The Rootless team went above and beyond with quick response to make sure that I had the piece as quickly as possible. They were always very responsive to my questions and requests. This is not something that you get from all sellers on Amazon. I highly recommend them on the customer service alone, but the excellence of this product does not end there.
This amazing little fire pit was just thing we were looking for to bring on our campouts. Not all campsites have a fire pit, but most campgrounds require a fire pit in order to have a camp fire. I have been looking for a lightweight and easily portable fire pit, but most of them were either too bulky or too flimsy. The Rootless fire pit was just right. The fire pit is lightweight and folds up easily into its own carrying case that is easily stored. It holds a good amount of firewood to make a nice cozy fire. The fire is also at a very back friendly height that allows for ease of stoking and good airflow for the fire. It is also a convenient height to sit around with the folding bag chairs.
I was pleasantly surprised with the ease of use, durability, and especially the ease of clean up of this pit. This is easily one of the most useful additions to our camping gear, and it stores so compactly that there is almost no reason to not have it on hand. If you buy this Rootless Fire Pit you will not be disappointed.

So much better than i expected!
Absolutely great! So much better than i anticipated! Easy to set up. Easy to pack up. The mesh is very fine so i put my bare feet under it. Coals dont fall through mesh but the heat down there is pretty intense so be careful. I was on the beach in Alaska so it was pretty great for me. Putting it away was crazy good! As soon as we dumped thr coals the mesh started to cool (like taking foil oit of thr oven - it cools quickly). I was convinced that my hands were going to get messy from rolling up the mesh but it had no residue at all. We burned 2 bundles of firewood in about 6 hours. This held much more wood weight than i would've taught it'd be able too. I was stunned. 4 random people that i met are all going to buy one each! I 100% recommend this product!

Excellent portable fire platform - versatile, sturdy, and raging hot fires

The portable fire pit is a great product- even after 5 yrs. We bought in 2017 and use it a few times per year. The screen surface is durable and holds a lot of wood. The mesh provides great ventilation on all sides and under the fire. Even when the fire is raging hot, the edges of the mesh and the supporting legs remain cool to the touch. You can even pick up the fire and move it to another location. Great product!! I prefer this product in comparison to a solo stove precisely because it is so versatile and portable. We stabilize it typically, just to be safe. On a smooth surface, or a fire mat, it can stand alone and be stable. In this pic we put a grill over the pit and cooked ribs. Most excellent dinner!

Used it for the first time today and it performed as good or better than I expected. Set up was quick and easy. When set up, it's stable and low enough to the ground so you don't get the feeling it will tip over. Ashes don't fall through the steel mesh, and it will hold plenty of wood to get a decent fire going. I can't speak to the long term durability of it because I've only used it once so far, but I had a fire going on it for almost four hours and afterward the mesh showed no sign of melting or deterioration (just some discoloration on the mesh which was expected). It's lightweight and compact enough so that it's convenient to carry in the included sleeve case. Materials and construction appeared to be good quality. Cools off quickly for disposing of the ashes and packing it back up.
